Missions, objectives
VIBE stands for “Vlaams Instituut voor Bio-Ecologisch bouwen en wonen”. They are a Flemish non-profit organisation that promotes natural building and living through education, awareness raising, lobbying and consultancy.
VIBE manages its own label for building professionals (architects, consultants, contractors, distributors, producers, energy suppliers...). They are a board member and the Belgian representative of the international label of quality for all building and accommodation products “natureplus” (www.natureplus.org/en).
VIBE also publishes Flanders’ biggest building magazine for the general public ‘Wonen met de Natuur’. |

Role in the CAP'EM project
|
Because of their experience in methodologies enabling assessment of eco-materials, VIBE lead the development of CAP’EM’s simplified LCA tool (Work Package 1). They will bring their own methodology, in link with Nature Plus, to the project.
Their strong network will help both to identify relevant materials for assessment (Work Package 2) and disseminate project findings (Work Package 3). In particular, the network developed through their current projects such as "Eco-bouwpools" aimed at broadening the bio-ecological building market makes VIBE is a very relevant partner for CAP’EM.
